About The Position

The Staff Pharmacist supports the Pharmacy Manager in leading and directing pharmacy technician support staff and is accountable for supporting management, oversight, and operation of all aspects of the pharmacy. The role helps deliver CVS Health’s purpose by providing safe, high-quality, compassionate care and helping patients manage prescriptions, chronic conditions, and specialty conditions.

The pharmacist oversees patient safety, professional practice, regulatory requirements, quality assurance, customer service, personnel and inventory management, financial profitability, loss prevention, and workflow. The position also supports adoption and management of patient care programs and helps the pharmacy team meet goals and improve performance.

Requirements

• Active pharmacy license in the state of employment.
• Not listed on the DEA Excluded Parties List.
• Immunization certification through an accredited organization, such as APhA.
• No pending felony charges or convictions for criminal offenses involving controlled substances.
• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Pharm.D. degree.

Responsibilities

• Support the Pharmacy Manager in leading and directing Pharmacy Technician Support Staff.
• Support management, oversight, and operation of all aspects of the pharmacy, including patient safety, professional practice, regulatory requirements, quality assurance, customer service, personnel management, inventory management, financial profitability, loss prevention, and workflow management.
• Adopt and manage patient care programs to help keep customers and patients healthy.
• Demonstrate empathy and compassion toward patients, customers, caregivers, and colleagues.
• Motivate, inspire, and develop Pharmacy Support Staff by balancing assignments, addressing development opportunities, and reducing knowledge gaps.
• Identify business opportunities and help develop solutions to drive growth and improve pharmacy performance.
• Lead the team in implementing solutions and achieving specified goals.
• Adapt plans to change in a dynamic community healthcare setting.
• Collaborate with others and seek ways to improve outcomes.
