The Staff Pharmacist prepares medications by reviewing and interpreting physician orders, detecting therapeutic incompatibilities. Complies with State and Federal drug laws as regulated by the State Board of Pharmacy, the Drug Enforcement Agency, and the Department of Public Health. Provides pharmacologic information by answering questions and requests of healthcare professionals. Completes pharmacy operational requirements by organizing and directing technician’s workflow, verifying their preparation and labeling of pharmaceuticals, performing order entry, as well as charges and inspections. Controls medications by monitoring drug therapies and advising interventions. Dispenses medications by compounding, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals. Prepares compounded sterile products and chemotherapy within a USP 797 compliant clean room.
