About The Position

The Staff Pharmacist practices pharmacy in an environment focused on patient care and education. The role is patient-directed and clinically oriented, with a focus on advancing the level of patient care at Meijer Pharmacy. The pharmacist fills prescriptions safely and accurately, provides and oversees clinical services, including immunizations where permitted, and supports pharmacy operations. In the absence of the pharmacist in charge, this position is responsible for pharmacy operations. The role also includes guiding, mentoring, and motivating pharmacy technicians and maintaining positive relationships with patients, team members, and leadership. Other duties may be assigned or required.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science degree or Doctorate of Pharmacy.
Registered and licensed in the state of practice.
Certified Immunization Pharmacist, except in Indiana.
Retail/community practice experience.
Working knowledge of the pharmacy system and policies and procedures.
Understanding of regulations in the state where the unit operates.

Responsibilities

Fill prescriptions safely and accurately.
Maintain positive relationships with patients, team members, and leadership.
Hold pharmacy technicians accountable for results in an appropriate and effective manner.
Educate and mentor pharmacy technicians to help them become effective team members.
Motivate team members to perform to their highest level.
Apply knowledge of Meijer policies and procedures and applicable state and federal laws.
Communicate effectively and act as an agent of change.
Organize and prioritize workload effectively.
Listen to patients and resolve their needs through customer service.
Assume responsibility for pharmacy operations in the absence of the pharmacist in charge.
Perform and oversee clinical services, including immunizations where allowed.
Perform other duties as assigned or required.
