About The Position
Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) is seeking a Staff Pharmacist for Vanderbilt Tullahoma-Harton Hospital. VUMC is a community dedicated to advancing health and wellness through patient care, education, and research. The Staff Pharmacist will fill orders for medications, monitor patient medication therapy, provide drug information, and supervise support personnel. This role involves preparing medications by reviewing and interpreting physician orders, detecting therapeutic incompatibilities, dispensing medications by compounding, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals, and controlling medications by monitoring drug therapies and advising interventions.
Requirements
- LIC-Pharmacist License - Tennessee
- Relevant Work Experience
- 1 year experience
- Bachelor's degree (Required)
Responsibilities
- Reviews, prepares, and dispenses medications according to accepted standards of practice.
- Actively participates in all clinical activities within the department and/or facility to include but not be limited to: patient and/or staff education regarding medication(s) and documented interventions within the real time clinical surveillance system as deemed appropriate.
- Effectively manages departmental resources.
- Provides quality, patient-specific drug information and recommendations to health care workers and patients.
- Establishes measurable yearly goals and objectives.
