Job Summary The Staff Pharmacist is responsible for prescription verification (PV1 and PV2), oversight of non-sterile compounded medications, and ensuring safe and compliant dispensing practices. This role is not focused on hands-on compounding, but rather on validating lab-prepared compounds, supporting pharmacy technicians, and maintaining operational accuracy and workflow efficiency. This is a fast-paced, execution-driven position ideal for a pharmacist who is detail-oriented, operationally strong, and comfortable working across multiple areas of pharmacy workflow.

Requirements

  • PharmD or BS in Pharmacy from an accredited institution
  • Active New York Pharmacist license in good standing
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage high-volume prescription workflows
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a compounding pharmacy environment
  • Familiarity with USP <795> and USP <800>
  • Experience with prescription verification workflows (PV1 / PV2)
  • Experience in high-volume pharmacy operations

Responsibilities

  • Perform PV1 and PV2 prescription verification with a high degree of accuracy
  • Conduct final verification prior to fulfillment and shipment
  • Review non-sterile compounded preparations for accuracy, labeling, and documentation
  • Validate formulations prepared by the lab to ensure compliance with internal standards
  • Ensure compliance with USP <795> and USP <800> guidelines
  • Verify prescription details including dosing, calculations, and ingredient accuracy
  • Support and oversee pharmacy technicians throughout workflow
  • Maintain efficient processing in a high-volume environment
  • Identify and resolve verification or processing issues
  • Ensure proper handling and documentation of controlled substances
  • Maintain an organized, inspection-ready pharmacy environment
  • Communicate updates and outstanding items for operational continuity
