About The Position

As a per diem, nonexempt Staff Pharmacist, you will fill orders with accuracy; check technician-prepared products before release; maintain the security of pharmacy and controlled substances; enter orders and patient information with accuracy; aid in the training of new staff; update the Director about the daily activities of the pharmacy; and aid the Director in maintaining the pharmacy. This position will provide coverage for pharmacy staffing and on call, as needed. The pharmacy utilizes HCS and Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets.

Requirements

BS or PharmD from an accredited School of Pharmacy
Current Colorado Pharmacist license in good standing
Experience using MS Office and pharmacy information systems
Demonstrated ability to work independently, set priorities, make critical decisions, and respond to client concerns
Demonstrated accuracy and timeliness in a work setting
Pass a drug test before beginning employment

Nice To Haves

Experience in an inpatient hospital environment
Experience in mental health and/or substance abuse disorders

Responsibilities

Review, verify, and dispense medication orders to ensure appropriateness, safety, and accuracy
Provide clinical pharmacy services, including medication therapy management and pharmacokinetic dosing and monitoring
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and care teams to optimize medication regimens for hospitalized patients
Monitor patient outcomes and medication safety, identifying and preventing adverse drug events
Supervise and support pharmacy technicians and interns, ensuring efficient and compliant workflow
Ensure regulatory and accreditation compliance, including Joint Commission, state, and federal requirements
Fill orders with accuracy
Check technician-prepared products before release
Maintain the security of pharmacy and controlled substances
Enter orders and patient information with accuracy
Aid in the training of new staff
Update the Director about the daily activities of the pharmacy
Aid the Director in maintaining the pharmacy
