About The Position
The Staff Pharmacist assists the Pharmacy Manager in all aspects of Pharmacy Operations. They provide patient care specific to each patient based on feedback received during patient consultation or file review. This role ensures excellent patient experience, locates merchandise on the sales floor, and establishes strong working relationships with stakeholders. The Staff Pharmacist accepts prescriptions and/or refill requests, ensures accurate and safe prescription filling, and counsels patients on pharmaceutical products. They are responsible for the proper storage of pharmaceutical products, executing processes as per Walmart's best ways/SOPs, and operating all pharmacy equipment. Protecting patient privacy and following provincial regulations are critical. The role also ensures patients receive eligible services and that the pharmacy is operational during posted hours. In partnership with the Pharmacy Manager, they assist in executing the business action plan to achieve corporate business goals.
Requirements
- Age - 16 or older
- Pharmacist License
- Secondary optional permit in Alberta: CA_APA - Additional Prescribing Authorization

Responsibilities
- Assists the Pharmacy Manager in all aspects of Pharmacy Operations.
- Provides patient care specific to each patient based on feedback received during patient consultation or file review.
- Ensures excellent patient experience and locates merchandise on the sales floor.
- Establishes and develops a strong working relationship with Professional Services District Manager and other stakeholders.
- Accepts prescriptions and/or refill requests from Customers, Doctors or Hospitals.
- Ensures all prescriptions are filled accurately, efficiently, and safely using established workflow models.
- Counsels all patients on sold pharmaceutical products.
- Ensures proper storage of pharmaceutical products.
- Executes processes as per Walmart's best ways/SOPs.
- Operates all equipment in the pharmacy (register, computer system etc.).
- Protects and maintains patient privacy at all times and follows provincial regulations established by the regulatory body.
- Ensures patients receive all eligible services they are entitled to (medication reviews, injections etc.) to meet specific patient needs.
- Ensures that Pharmacy is open and operational during the posted business hours.
- Assists in executing the business action plan to achieve corporate business goals.
