About the Facility: Hillsdale Hospital is a 97 bed acute care facility, offering med-surg, emergency department, behavioral health, OB, and surgical services. CPS Solutions-Optum has partnered with the hospital to manage the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy. This position is an employee of CPS Solutions-Optum. Pharmacy Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:00am to 9:00pm; Saturday-Sunday, 8:00am to 6:00pm This is a per diem role with a variable schedule and no set hours
Requirements
- ACPE - accredited PharmD degree (highly preferred) or BS of Pharmacy with recent pharmacist work experience
- Active State of Michigan pharmacist license in good standing
- State of Michigan controlled substance license
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Nice To Haves
- Some hospital pharmacy work experience
Responsibilities
- Processes physician drug orders including, but not limited to: order entry into dispensing computer system, appropriate product selection, labeling and repackaging, delegating product preparation activities to pharmacy technicians
- Consults with various health care professionals and provides information and guidance concerning drugs and their appropriate use
- Complies with departmental and hospital policies and procedures
- Assumes duties of Director of Pharmacy in his/her absence to manage daily departmental activities
- Participates in and/or provides support to hospital committees as agreed upon by committee members and the Director of Pharmacy to help establish drug-related policies, criteria, or to monitor issues related to drugs i.e. Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee
- Assist in the preparation of periodic reports on the progress of the department for submission to the administration of the hospital
- Assists the department and hospital in maintaining compliance with accreditation standards
