About The Position

The Staff Pharmacist serves multiple outpatient specialty pharmacy operations for client hospitals, in multiple states, using technology to maximize the cognitive contributions of clinical pharmacists to quality patient care. The Staff Pharmacist actively engages with clinicians and the interdisciplinary team to enhance the performance of care teams and improve outcomes. The Staff Pharmacist is able to initiate prior authorizations, reauthorizations, and appeals for specialty medications, counsels and reassesses patients on specialty medications and documents all actions in accordance with the policies and procedures of both CarepathRx and its hospital clients.

Requirements

  • Degree in Pharmacy (B.S Pharmacy or PharmD.)
  • 2+ years’ experience in specialty pharmacy preferred
  • Valid Pharmacist license issued by the governing State Board of Pharmacy
  • Multiple state licenses and willingness to serve clients in multiple states including but not limited to AL, TN, FL, OH, MT, NJ, NY, & CA
  • A working knowledge of formulary policies, pharmacy and therapeutics policy and procedures
  • Effective communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Speak and understand English
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a team
  • Demonstrated customer service skills
  • Working knowledge of client/server applications
  • Proficiency with office technology tools, to include MS Office 2000 or later (esp. Outlook, Excel, and Word), Google Drive, internet, and email
  • If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

Responsibilities

  • Performs telepharmacy duties as required and defined in the company SOP and reports directly to the Regional Manager.
  • Provides telepharmacy services for multiple clients and learn multiple pharmacy information systems (PIS’s).
  • Obtains multiple state licenses.
  • Prioritizes, assigns, and evaluates the work of assigned clients; maintains accurate records and documents actions taken; maintains confidentiality of information, including HIPAA; understands and interprets the laws, regulations, and policies governing the pharmacy operation.
  • Fulfills business/client needs by registering as the PIC when needed.
