About The Position

This position is accountable for those pharmacy services which require a pharmaceutical education and state licensure; leadership experience and extensive professional judgment are also required. Receives, compounds, fills and verifies prescriptions, dispenses pharmaceuticals, offers preventative healthcare services such as immunizations, consults with clients regarding the nature and use of drugs, and trains and/or supervises personnel. Prepares and maintains all necessary records required by federal, state and local regulations. These duties are performed independently, according to regulatory guidelines, departmental policies and procedures, as scheduled by the supervisory staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy Degree
• New York State Pharmacist License and Current Registration
• Certified Immunizer Required
• At least three (3) years of experience as a licensed community retail/outpatient pharmacist required
• Ability to multi-task and set priorities
• Computer skills
• Possesses excellent mathematical ability, attention to detail, concentration, and alertness.
• Knows how to organize and prioritize work while illustrating good time management skills
• Demonstrates the ability to safely handle medications
• Exhibits professional and respectable oral communication with co-workers, patients, outside vendors, and other health care affiliates.
• Presents aptitude to multi-task, work independently, and engage in teamwork
• Can proficiently read, write, speak, and understand English.

Nice To Haves

• Previous institutional experience helpful, but not required
• On-the-job training after employment is necessary
• Experience with Micro Merchant PrimeRx pharmacy software (Preferred)
• 340B pharmacy experience (Preferred)
