About The Position

The Staff Pharmacist Manager is accountable for second‑shift manual dispensing operations within a high‑volume, automated home delivery pharmacy environment. This role achieves business results through people, providing oversight and leadership to licensed pharmacists and pharmacy technicians while ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient pharmacy operations. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BS Pharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
  • Active and in good standing Indiana Pharmacist License or willingness to obtain Indiana licensure within six (6) months of hire
  • Prior experience leading, supervising, or influencing teams
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work second shift (2:30 PM – 11:00 PM), Monday through Friday
  • If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for second‑shift pharmacy performance, safety, quality, and compliance
  • Owns daily production results, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of operational metrics
  • Holds self and team members accountable for meeting performance expectations and regulatory standards
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of licensed pharmacists and pharmacy technicians
  • Execute performance management processes, including goal setting, coaching, feedback, and corrective action
  • Support onboarding, ongoing training, and development to build capability, engagement, and bench strength
  • Create a respectful, inclusive, and high‑performance culture aligned to Cigna values
  • Ensure pharmacy operations support safe, accurate, and timely medication dispensing
  • Make operational decisions with patient safety and service quality as top priorities
  • Reinforce quality standards and a “right‑the‑first‑time” mindset across the team
  • Lead effectively in a fast‑paced, highly automated, production‑driven environment
  • Respond quickly to changing priorities, workload fluctuations, and operational challenges
  • Support enterprise initiatives, workflow changes, and technology enhancements
  • Partner effectively with first shift, overnight, and cross‑functional teams to ensure seamless operations
  • Communicate clearly and proactively to enable strong shift‑to‑shift continuity
  • Build trust‑based relationships that foster collaboration and shared accountability
  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality, safety, and team effectiveness
  • Lead and execute continuous improvement initiatives using data and frontline feedback
  • Encourage employee input and innovation to improve processes and outcomes
