About The Position

We are searching for a Staff Pharmacist -- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will promote pharmaceutical care by managing the medication process, identifying and preventing potential drug-related problems, and resolving actual drug-related problems. Additionally, you perform the duties of a registered pharmacist. All responsibilities will be performed in a manner developmentally appropriate for the ages of patients served (0-adult).

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or Ph.D. in Pharmacy required
RPH certification from the state of Texas required

2+ years hospital staff pharmacist experience preferred

Responsibilities

Proactively monitor, manage, and communicate medication shortages and backorders
Oversee Omnicell/ADC inventory management, evaluating usage trends to optimize PAR levels, executing floor stock additions or deletions, and ensuring accurate medication placement
Maintain, and present weekly inventory database reports and metrics grids
Add, validate, and troubleshoot new National Drug Codes (NDCs) and scan codes within the pharmacy carousel, Omnicell
Assist with the complete lifecycle of controlled substances inventory, including receiving orders, investigating and resolving discrepancies, and medication waste.
Support automated medication tray processing systems (e.g., Kit Check/KTB), fulfilling kit-related requests, and performing daily quality assurance checks
Identify and implement inventory cost-saving initiatives
Execute VAMS formulary additions and deletions
Coordinate the prompt removal and quarantine of expired, recalled, or damaged medications
Support implementation of projects and programs
Maintain and manage hazardous drug databases.
