About The Position

This pharmacist performs the day-to-day responsibilities of drug distribution, verifies drug doses for appropriateness, and processes sterile and non-sterile prescription orders. The incumbent performs therapeutic intervention as needed, provides drug information and consultation to other professional staff and patients, maintains patient profiles, conducts drug therapy monitoring, and performs and supports drug compounding, and all aspects of medication management. The Staff Pharmacist is also responsible for directing technicians, performing inventory control, and actively precepting pharmacy residents, students, technicians, or interns as assigned by the supervisor. This position is a Direct Care Provider as defined in the Pharmacy Policy. Requirements

  • Working knowledge of sterile compounding, USP797/800, and non-sterile compounding, USP795
  • One year of clinical experience as a licensed pharmacist
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and customer service skills appropriate to the job
  • Knowledge and abilities necessary for the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position
  • Graduation from an accredited School of Pharmacy with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree
  • Current BLS or ACLS certification
  • CA Board of Pharmacy Registered Pharmacist licensure in good standing
  • Ability to work variable shifts including nights, weekends and holidays as needed
  • Ability to travel to off site locations as required
  • Ability to perform routine tasks such as working, storing, preparing, receiving, unpacking, transporting, disposing of, or administering drugs that have been identified as hazardous or potentially hazardous by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) in accordance with USP 800.
  • Must be able to provide proof of work authorization

Nice To Haves

  • Successful completion of PGY1 General Practice Residency and/or PGY2 Oncology Residency
  • Previous experience in an Ambulatory Infusion Center setting
  • Previous experience in Oncology Pharmacy setting
  • Previous experience in Inpatient Pharmacy
  • Knowledge and experience using EPIC electronic health record
  • Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist (BCOP) by the Board of Pharmacy Specialties
