About The Position

Washington Pediatrics is seeking a full-time Staff Pediatrician to join their established and respected independent pediatric practice in Eastern North Carolina. This is a physician-owned and led practice founded in 1955, currently employing 2 MDs, 2 PAs, 2 NPs (one part-time), and an embedded behavioral health psychologist. The practice serves over 7,200 active patients across a six-county region, with a patient population ranging from birth through adolescence, predominantly Medicaid (75.2%) with a significant Hispanic patient population. This role offers a mission-driven opportunity to practice in a community that genuinely needs the care, without the constraints of corporate medicine. The practice emphasizes a supportive environment with long-term provider tenure.

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatrics.
  • Active or eligible NC medical license.
  • Mission-driven, community-minded, and adaptable.
  • Comfortable practicing in an independent, high-autonomy environment.
  • New graduates and residents welcome.

Nice To Haves

  • Spanish language proficiency is a plus due to the patient population.

Responsibilities

  • Provide pediatric care to patients from birth through adolescence.
  • Manage approximately 20 patients per day.
  • Participate in weeknight phone call approximately 1 evening per week.
  • Share weekend call duties approximately 1 in 6 weeks.
  • Rotate through Saturday morning clinic duties approximately 1 in 5-6 weeks.
  • Work in an office-based setting only, with no hospital rounding.
  • Utilize Veradigm EHR system.
  • Collaborate with integrated behavioral health services.
  • Administer point-of-care lab tests and vaccines.

Benefits

  • Year 1 base salary: $200,000
  • Year 2 base salary: $210,000
