About The Position

PYA is seeking a Staff or Senior Consultant focused on Forensic Services to join its high-performing and privately-owned firm with a dynamic culture and a strong national reputation. This individual will join PYA’s collaborative Consulting Department which serves clients in all 50 states.

Requirements

2+ years of accounting, auditing, or financial investigation experience at a professional services and/or consulting firm preferred
Demonstrated experience self-reviewing work product and exhibiting attention to detail
Client-oriented work ethic, delivering high-quality results
Creative problem solver with a high level of strategic, analytical, and conceptual skills and a passion for helping clients
Ability to work irregular hours during investigations or legal proceedings

Nice To Haves

Pursuit of or certification including Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), or Certified in Financial Forensic (CFF) preferred

Responsibilities

Examines and interprets complex financial data, identifying patterns and detecting discrepancies or irregularities for forensic accounting projects for PYA clients
Analyzes financial data effectively utilizing Microsoft Excel, including Pivot tables and complex formulas, accounting software, data analysis tools, and forensic accounting techniques
Reviews financial records and transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness and then works with the PYA team to evaluate information objectively
Assesses potential fraud risks
Proposes effective investigative strategies
Conveys complex financial information clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing to PYA clients
Provides assistance with litigation support matters as needed
Displays a curiosity to learn from experienced leaders who support and guide the team
Lead various work streams within a project, with guidance from senior leadership, by managing day to day engagement priorities individually and as a part of a team
