About The Position

Reporting to the Manager, Operations Engineering, the Staff Operations Engineer leads the development and implementation of technical solutions that improve the safety, reliability, and performance of Husky Midstream operating assets. The role is accountable for scoping and delivering operations-driven projects, monitoring asset performance, identifying improvement opportunities, resolving field technical issues, and investigating equipment incidents and failures.

Requirements

  • Legally authorized to work in Canada.
  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering; other engineering degrees or relevant technology diplomas will be considered.
  • Minimum 12 years related engineering experience.
  • Professional designation with APEGA and/or APEGS (P.Eng. or P.L.(Eng.)).
  • Experience in equipment and process troubleshooting, root cause analysis, operations support, Management of Change, and system optimization is an asset.
  • Maintain a Class 5 driver's license, a satisfactory driving record, and adhere to the appropriate Company policies and guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Lead facility improvement initiatives delivering system-wide value.
  • Develop facility enhancement strategies and recommend spend for long‑range planning.
  • Partner with Operations as the primary liaison with the Operations Engineering team.
  • Proactively identify operational bottlenecks and lead process optimization initiatives to improve efficiency, reliability, and throughput.
  • Issue recommendations, feasibility studies, and front-end scoping during project development.
  • Lead or participate in investigations of process safety or equipment failure incidents.
  • Participate in Cenovus Operations Integrity Management System sustainment and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Guide and mentor team members using cross‑functional knowledge and strong operational context.
