Staff Nurse - Peds ED - Full Time Nights
About The Position
The Staff Nurse (RN) works in the Pediatric Emergency Department at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. Emergency Department nurses independently assess patients’ conditions and rapidly coordinate multidisciplinary care. They provide care ranging from high-technology interventions to community trauma care, identify challenges, comfort families, and organize teams in time-critical situations. Nurses collaborate with paramedics, physicians, and other professionals, using techniques such as induced hypothermia and digital radiology. This is a full-time position with 12-hour overnight shifts focused in the Pediatric Emergency Department. The role requires on-site presence, and employees should live within a commutable distance of the hospital. Travel expenses are not reimbursed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
- Current New York State RN license, or willingness to obtain one.
- BCLS certification.
- ACLS certification.
- PALS certification.
- At least 1 year of previous nursing experience.
Nice To Haves
- Certifications in TNCC, CEN, ENPC, or TPEN.
- Strong Emergency Department nursing experience.
