University of Iowa Health Care Department of Nursing is seeking 50% - 100% Staff Nurses to work for the Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center with the Clinic Intake team. This role involves applying nursing theory to patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and evaluation. The nurse will assess patient health care preferences and expectations, collaborate on care coordination across settings, and develop patient care plans based on individual patient conditions, age, and socioeconomic factors. Responsibilities include implementing patient care plans, documenting interventions and patient responses, and integrating patient and family contributions into the care plan. The role also involves developing, coordinating, and implementing transfer/discharge planning, and implementing nursing interventions according to policies and procedures to maintain a safe environment. The position requires adherence to universal precautions. The role is 50%-100% effort (20-40 hours per week) with Monday-Friday schedules, offering 8-10 hour shifts. Extended shifts are required once every 4 weeks. No nights, holidays, or weekends are involved. The salary starts at a minimum of $61,782 at 100% effort and is commensurate with experience and percent effort. The position is located on the University Campus.
