About The Position

A clinically competent registered professional nurse who delivers patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. Prescribes, delegates, and coordinates nursing care provided to patients throughout the health system. Interacts effectively with patients, significant others, and health care team members while maintaining professional nursing standards.

Requirements

• Current Ohio R.N. licensure, which must be maintained.
• Strong critical-thinking skills.
• BLS certification is mandatory.
• ACLS certification is mandatory within six months.
• PALS certification is mandatory within six months.
• Ability to work independently.
• May be required to complete specific annual education related to specialty certifications and standards.

Nice To Haves

• Previous nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Handle multiple concurrent patient complaints, concerns, and issues.
• Formulate nursing care plans.
• Administer medications within the scope of RN practice.
• Assist physicians with invasive and non-invasive procedures performed in the department.
• Acquire and maintain current knowledge of equipment and procedures or treatments generally used to care for emergent patients.
• Document and communicate pertinent information regarding patient condition.
• Provide direction and supervision to LPNs, POCTs, and other ancillary staff.
• Perform crisis intervention.
• Monitor and ensure accurate and timely completion of physician orders.
• Perform defibrillation, cardioversion, and external pacing effectively and safely.
• Assist with improving emergency department efficiencies and reducing patients’ length of stay.
• Perform other duties as requested.
