About The Position

Agape Behavioral Healthcare, a top workplace for three consecutive years, is seeking Per-Diem & Part-Time Staff Nurses for their residential and detox facilities located in Fort Pierce & Port St. Lucie, FL. The Staff Nurse is responsible for all nursing-related services for each patient, linking them to physicians and external medical resources under the supervision of the Medical Director. Key duties include conducting medical and history screenings, providing routine nursing care, and overseeing the medical and psychiatric management of patients in collaboration with the attending physician. The nurse is also an integral part of the Treatment Team, contributing to the development of the Master Treatment Plan.

Requirements

  • Graduated from a Community College with a degree or diploma of Nursing LPN.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in a chemical dependency/psychiatric setting, preferably in a detox unit and/or inpatient, partial hospitalization and/or outpatient setting.
  • Licensed to practice nursing in the appropriate state and maintains current licensure per state requirements with a minimum of 1 year nursing experience.
  • Maintains current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

  • Completes the following documentation within 24 hours of the patient’s admission to the program: Admission Note Nursing Assessment, Pre-Screen Testing, HRS Consent Form, Patient Health Examination.
  • Transcribes Physician’s Orders and implements all Medical Protocols as ordered.
  • Administers medications and monitors the detoxification process.
  • Confers with and assists the Medical Doctor and the Psychiatrist.
  • Makes appropriate referrals using referral forms.
  • Attends and participates in all “in-service” functions.
  • Assists with emergency situations and makes immediate referrals.
  • Provides documentation reflecting services for each patient in accordance with licensure standards.
  • Maintains the confidential nature of all patients and facility activities.
  • Maintains required Training & Continuing Education.
  • Maintains Standards of Ethical Conduct.
  • Meets with patients requesting to see the doctor to determine the urgency of their medical needs and expedite treatment as required.
  • Effectively communicates concerns about patient health to the Medical Director and follows up as necessary.
