About The Position

The Staff Nurse in OPS-PACU maintains standards of professional nursing practice and coordinates total nursing care for patients, taking their specific age-related needs into consideration. The nurse provides leadership by working cooperatively with other health care professionals. The role may require rotating shifts and units and assuming the Charge Nurse role. It includes floating, rotation, on-call duties, and weekend or holiday work.

Requirements

• Active RN licensure in the State of Ohio.
• BLS certification.
• Willingness to rotate shifts and units.
• Visual acuity of 20/20 or corrected to 20/20, including color vision when applicable.
• Ability to hear, with or without aids.
• Ability to communicate orally.
• Good manual dexterity.
• Ability to push, pull, roll, and transfer or lift 50 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to stand and walk frequently.
• Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and kneel frequently.
• Ability to perform CPR.
• Accuracy, integrity, flexibility, punctuality, and dependability.
• Organizational, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to work with self-direction and effectiveness under minimal supervision.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and group facilitation skills.
• Demonstrated ability in conflict negotiation and ability to exercise diplomacy and tact in potentially volatile situations.

Nice To Haves

• ACLS certification.
• PALS certification.
