About The Position

United Health Services (UHS), the largest and most comprehensive provider of healthcare services in upstate New York’s Southern Tier, is seeking a Staff Registered Nurse – Ambulatory Surgery OR to join our team at the UHS Ambulatory Surgery Center Operating Room in Johnson City, NY. In this role, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced ambulatory surgery environment, supporting surgical procedures and ensuring safe, efficient patient flow from pre-op through recovery. Primary Department, Division, or Unit: Operating Room, UHS Ambulatory Surgery Center at Wilson Place. Primary Work Shift: Day. Regular Scheduled Weekly Hours: 32. Compensation Range: $40.70 - $61.05 per hour, depending on experience.

Requirements

• A graduate of an accredited school of Nursing
• Current NYS RN License

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing
• Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting
• Professional certification in a related nursing specialty
• Relevant skills certification (i.e., ACLS, PALS, TNCC) as required by home unit assigned.

Responsibilities

• Assesses, plans, delegates, coordinates, implements and evaluates nursing care in managing a group of patients, serving as a primary nurse and/or accountable nurse, when designated by unit assignment and consideration of factors related to safety, effectiveness, competency, cost and impact.
• Educates patient and family in health promotion and disease management using available resources.
• Utilizes a working knowledge of pharmacology and safely administers medications according to United Health Services policy.
• Shares in responsibility for productivity and effective resources utilization including staffing, time management, supplies and services.
• Complies with all nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and United Health Services policies.
• Actively participates in and supports the Nursing Shared Governance Model by supporting the Unit Council, participating in improvement initiatives, and contributing to peer review practices.
• Actively engages in professional development, continuing nursing education, and completing all mandatory education requirements.
• Integrates nursing research and current evidence into practice.
• Provides a supportive learning environment for new employees and students.
• Will follow all United Health Services Values.
• Will perform other duties as assigned.
