About The Position

This is a casual Staff Nurse RN position in the Kidney Center - Vascular Access department. Casual nurses have no regular appointed scheduled hours and do not receive benefits. They must be available to work a minimum of two (2) open 8-hour shifts (or equivalent) per four-week period, with at least one weekend shift. Additionally, casual nurses must be available to work two holiday shifts per calendar year (one of which must be a winter holiday). This role operates within the Hennepin Healthcare System Relationship-Based Care practice model, focusing on protecting, promoting wellness, optimizing health, triaging patients, alleviating suffering, partnering with patients and families, documenting care, educating patients on disease processes and preventative care, and assuring continuity of care.

Requirements

Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
Possession of a valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State of Minnesota
One year RN dialysis experience

Nice To Haves

Certification in area of clinical specialty
Surgical &/or Interventional Radiology experience highly desired
BSN Preferred. Bachelor of Nursing degree is strongly encouraged. Advancement in academic education will be discussed as part of individual professional development during the annual performance review.
