About The Position

We are currently seeking a Staff Nurse to join our Inpatient Medicine Unit. This position is casual. Casual nurses are nurses who have no regular appointed scheduled hours (no assigned FTE). Nurses may not have a casual position and a regularly scheduled position within the same facility. Casual nurses must make themselves available to work a minimum of two (2) open 8-hour minimum length or the equivalent number of hours per four (4)-week scheduling period at straight time, a minimum of one shift must be a weekend shift. Casual nurses must also make themselves available to work two (2) of the following holiday shifts per calendar year: New Year's Day, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day. Holiday shifts must be full eight or twelve hour shifts. A minimum of one of the holidays must be a winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Year's). Note: If you are currently in a benefit earning position and apply for this casual position you will be decreasing your current hours to casual with no benefits.

Requirements

  • 1 year of inpatient RN experience
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
  • Possession of a valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State of Minnesota

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in area of clinical specialty
  • BSN Preferred. Bachelor of Nursing degree is strongly encouraged. Advancement in academic education will be discussed as part of individual professional development during the annual performance review.

Responsibilities
