The Fisher-Titus Nurse Residency Program is designed for new nurse graduates with less than one year of experience. The program aims to assist with the transition into clinical practice by focusing on the development of critical thinking, clinical leadership, and decision-making skills. Fisher-Titus is seeking recent graduates from an accredited nursing program to join their team. Throughout the 12-month residency, new Staff Nurses will be supported by trained preceptors, educators, and leaders invested in their individual learning plans. The program emphasizes increasing decision-making competence and confidence, improving professional commitment and satisfaction, consistently utilizing evidence-based practices, and building stronger clinical nursing leadership and critical thinking skills. It includes courses and simulation experiences to deepen knowledge of evidence-based nursing practice. The program involves general orientation, clinical nursing orientation, and participation in a monthly 3-hour educational nurse residency program with didactic, hands-on, and mock scenario education. Nurse Educators will assign pre-work to enhance critical thinking. The program is a 12-month investment in continuing education provided by Provider Unit #285, by the Ohio Nurses Association (OBN-001-91), allowing new nurses to earn Continuing Education. Participants will also engage in the Clinical Ladder Program and become ACLS and PALS certified, if appropriate for the position.
