About The Position

The Children's Mercy Neurology Department is a top-ranked program providing innovative care, including the Sarli Family Foundation Neurology Clinic and a Comprehensive Epilepsy Center. The Comprehensive Stroke Center is the only pediatric stroke center in the region. Registered nurses in this role provide illness management and health promotion for patients and families, utilizing the nursing process to deliver safe, high-quality, comprehensive, and age-appropriate care. They also provide patient and family education, advocate for patient needs, and coordinate care with other personnel. Requirements

  • Associate's Degree ADN Required.
  • Licensed RN - Kansas, Registered Nurse Multistate License Kansas
  • Licensed RN - MO, Registered Nurse Multistate License Missouri
  • RN Compact license for all states besides KS and MO, must obtain KS or MO Multistate License within 90 days of hire
  • Required Life Support Certifications Required Upon Hire
  • Willingness to be vaccinated for seasonal influenza.
  • Willingness to be vaccinated if found non-immune to measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) and chicken pox (varicella) and/or without evidence of tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis (Tdap) vaccination since 2005.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree BSN Preferred
  • Specialty Certification relevant to unit's patient population (determined by Nurse Manager/Director) Preferred Upon Hire

  • Utilizes current research and evidence for practice to expand personal professional knowledge, enhance role performance, and improve nursing care quality.
