Requirements

  • Currently working in ICU or Cath Lab or within the last 2 years Critical Care nursing experience required, primarily in cardiovascular nursing
  • Registered Nurse: CA RN License
  • Basic Life Support - CPR BLS

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support - ACLS, within 90 Days
  • Angiographic experience desired
  • Cath Lab experience

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes the nursing process to provide safe therapeutic care for patients: Assessment, Planning, Implementation, Evaluation
  • Utilizes the nursing process to identify and meet educational and discharge needs of the patients
  • Identifies changes in patients' condition and intervenes appropriately.
  • Provides critical care level of patient care.
  • Works collaboratively with physicians.
  • Review orders.
  • Reports abnormal lab values and significant changes in patient findings.
  • Works collaboratively with patients and family to establish a plan of care, which would include an assessment of psychosocial needs.
  • Obtains consents on patients prior to performing studies as required.
  • Possesses knowledge of medications and demonstrates ability to dispense medications as per FHMC standards.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and safe operation of equipment pertinent to patient care and unit management.
  • Demonstrates appropriate use, monitoring and administration of IVs as per FHMC standards.
