Staff Nurse II, Nursery
About The Position
Provides professional nursing care for infants in the nursery and for mothers in the post partum unit; coordinates care planning with other disciplines; maintains standards of professional practice. Employees of Sutter Health and its entities may handle hazardous drugs in the course of their work, including patient care, which requires them to manage, store, prepare, receive, unpack, transport, dispose of, or administer drugs identified as hazardous or potentially hazardous by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) and in accordance with the USP 800 guidelines.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
- 2 years previous clinical experience in neonatal ICU and obstetrical nursing.
- Registered Nurse - CA State Licensure - RN
- Basic Life Support Certification - BLS
- Neonatal Resuscitation Provider - NRP
- Ability to make fine discrimination in sound
- Ability to work with bodily fluids and substances
- Contact with patients under a wide variety of circumstances
- Handles emergency or crisis situations
- Subject to varying and unpredictable situations
- OSHA Risk Category I (High Risk)
