Position Summary: CVS Pharmacy, Inc., a CVS Health company, is hiring for the following role in Woonsocket, RI: Staff Network Engineer to implement strategies and activities for building and maintaining networks, associated components, infrastructure and services. Duties include: Implements systems that protect sensitive data, maintain operational integrity, and ensure compliance with network security standards, protocols, and regulatory requirements. Designs and develops industry-leading network engineering strategies, roadmaps, and initiatives to enhance network performance, security, and availability. Coordinates externally with network equipment vendors and service providers, negotiating contracts and service level agreements to ensure optimal service delivery. Act as a top-level specialist in network engineering, providing technical expertise, guidance, and support to resolve complex issues and address escalations. Counsels with internal stakeholders to align network engineering strategies with organizational goals and drive cross-functional initiatives. Develops actionable insights on network performance metrics to generate reports that assess system effectiveness, identify areas for improvement, and optimize network performance. Responsible for day-to-day operations of network engineering teams, managing resources, budgets, and timelines to meet organizational needs and maintain network reliability. Consults on network engineering projects, from planning to execution, ensuring effective project management, resource allocation, and timely delivery. Develops strategy and provides direction for network engineering activities, ensuring the design, implementation, and maintenance of robust and scalable network infrastructure. Requirements

  • Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
  • Configuring Routing protocols, such as RIP, OSPF, EIGRP, static routing and policy-based routing
  • Designing and implementing Data Center migration
  • Implementing Cisco ACI fabric, EPG, contracts and Layer 3 connectivity in Datacenter
  • Implementing Cisco Nexus dashboards and network insights to monitor networks
  • Building Cisco ACI fabric and configuring Layer3 out’s, end-point groups, switch profiles, contracts, and VRFs
  • Implementing software-defined networking and network virtualization technologies
  • Integrated cloud services with software-defined and networking technologies
  • Upgrading, installing, configuring and administering security and monitoring tools in Linux environments
  • Conducting patching and package installations in Linux/Unix Environment
  • Generating root cause analysis (RCA) for critical issues of Layer1/Layer2/Layer3 problems
  • Providing redundancy to the network, implementing Hot Standby Routing Protocol (HSRP) and load sharing for effective utilization of routers
  • Configuring, implementing, and troubleshooting VTP, STP, trunking, and Ether channels
  • Packet capturing and troubleshooting network problems with Wireshark, identifying and fixing problems
  • Implementing, configuring, and troubleshooting various routing protocols, including RIP, EIGRP, OSPF, and BGP
  • Performing network monitoring, and providing analysis using Wireshark and SolarWinds
