About The Position

As a Staff Network Engineer in Information Security, you will design, implement, and maintain secure network infrastructures that support business objectives and ensure high availability. This role requires expertise in network architecture, performance optimization, and cloud-native design and architecture principles. You will lead efforts to monitor network health, resolve complex issues, and drive continuous improvements through automation and infrastructure as code initiatives across complex, global security platforms. Collaborating across teams, you will contribute to scalable, reliable solutions that enhance operational efficiency while adhering to compliance and security requirements within a dynamic technology environment. The team leads the design and implementation of advanced global network strategies, ensuring secure access to internal and external resources with a strong focus on compliance and enterprise security. It drives innovation by researching emerging technologies and delivering automated infrastructure-as-code solutions to support evolving business needs, enhance user experience, and provide security at speed. Expertise in cloud automation, network protocols, and continuous integration pipelines enables the team to develop robust, scalable security solutions across cloud and data center environments. Collaboration with cross-functional partners fosters continuous improvement and modernization of security platforms.

Requirements

  • Proven expertise in network design, maintenance, and issue resolution aligned with industry standards and business needs.
  • Strong knowledge of coding standards, scripting, and automation tools to support continuous integration and delivery processes.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and GCP, including infrastructure as code and cloud automation.
  • Proficiency in automation and scripting to support CI/CD pipelines and streamline network operations.
  • Ability to analyze network performance metrics and implement improvements aligned with business needs.
  • Familiarity with security standards, telemetry implementation, and SRE principles to enhance system monitoring and risk mitigation.
  • Skilled in collaborating across teams to drive scalable, secure, and high-availability network solutions.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, information systems, cybersecurity, or related area and 4 years’ experience in network engineering or related area at a technology, retail, or data-driven company.
  • 6 years’ experience in network engineering or related area at a technology, retail, or data-driven company.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in Security+, Network+, GISF, GSEC, CISSP, or CCSP
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or related area
  • 2 years’ experience leading information security or cybersecurity projects
  • Background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.
  • Knowledge of accessibility best practices and joining us as we continue to create accessible products and services following Walmart’s accessibility standards and guidelines for supporting an inclusive culture.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify risks, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions promptly.
  • Develop and enforce network security policies, protocols, and configurations to protect organizational assets.
  • Leverage data-driven practices to solve complex problems and improve user experiences
