About The Position

Bring the next generation of the mobile application to life by designing and developing features primarily in React Native and TypeScript. Build scalable, performant, and maintainable mobile experiences for both iOS and Android. Contribute to the progressive integration of React Native modules into the existing native iOS and Android codebase and help define best practices for a successful brownfield architecture. Collaborate closely with native iOS developers to ensure React Native and Swift components coexist cleanly and efficiently. Develop or contribute to native modules when features require deeper integration with iOS or Android capabilities. Participate in architectural decisions, including evaluating when a feature should be built in React Native versus natively. Stay current with new frameworks, tools, and practices across the React Native ecosystem while maintaining a strong understanding of native mobile development. Improve application performance, stability, accessibility, testability, and developer experience. Conduct thoughtful code reviews across TypeScript and, when applicable, Swift, while contributing to knowledge-sharing within the team. Collaborate with Product, Design, QA, Backend, and native mobile developers to define, build, test, and release new features. Contribute to the team’s engineering practices, including automated testing, CI/CD, documentation, release management, and monitoring. Mentor other developers and contribute to technical planning, architecture discussions, and hiring activities, depending on experience level. Champion the responsible adoption of AI-assisted development tools for coding, code reviews, testing, documentation, debugging, and refactoring.

Requirements

• Strong professional experience building and releasing mobile applications, with significant hands-on experience in React Native.
• Advanced knowledge of TypeScript, JavaScript, React, and the broader React Native ecosystem.
• Experience contributing to customer-facing applications released through the Apple App Store and Google Play.
• Strong understanding of React Native architecture, including the bridge, JSI, native modules, and the principles behind the new architecture.
• Experience with tools such as Metro, Hermes, CocoaPods, Swift Package Manager, Gradle, and common React Native debugging and performance tools.
• Experience integrating React Native features into an existing native application or working within a hybrid mobile codebase.
• Experience creating, modifying, or collaborating on native modules using Swift, Objective-C, Kotlin, or Java.
• Working knowledge of native iOS development.
• Understanding of mobile performance considerations, including rendering, memory management, application startup time, state management, and communication between JavaScript and native code.
• Familiarity with unidirectional data flow and modern state-management approaches.
• Ability to participate in discussions about software design, architecture, design patterns, and technical trade-offs across cross-platform and native environments.
• Strong understanding of the principles required to produce clean, consistent, testable, efficient, and maintainable code.
• Experience with unit, integration, and automated testing for mobile applications.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively with Product, Design, QA, Backend, and other mobile developers to define and deliver new features.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make thoughtful technical compromises, including deciding when to use React Native and when a native solution is more appropriate.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate business and product needs into practical technical requirements.
• Active use of AI-assisted development tools, combined with the critical judgment required to assess, refine, or challenge their output.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with React Native’s new architecture, including Fabric and TurboModules.
• Knowledge of Swift, SwiftUI, or UIKit.
• Knowledge of Kotlin or Jetpack Compose.
• Modernizing or migrating a native application toward React Native.
• Supporting a large-scale or high-traffic consumer mobile application.
