Our PowerPacks ecosystem powers loyalty, rewards, memberships, subscriptions, payments, and personalized experiences that engage millions of customers across digital channels. GameStop is seeking a Staff Mobile App Engineer to define and drive the long-term technical strategy for our mobile applications. This role operates across multiple teams, influencing architecture, platform direction, and engineering excellence while enabling scalable, innovative customer experiences. This role is onsite 5 days a week in Grapevine, TX.

Requirements

• Expert-level React Native and TypeScript practices
• Experience shipping and maintaining production iOS and Android apps, including App Store and Google Play release processes
• Strong understanding of state management tradeoffs: server state, form state, and local UI state
• Experience integrating REST and/or GraphQL APIs (Axios, Apollo, or similar)
• Experience with a mobile component library or design system (React Native Paper, NativeBase, Tamagui, or similar)
• Familiarity with React Navigation or Expo Router
• Comfort writing tests and working with mobile e2e test suites (Detox, Maestro, or Appium)
• Experience in a fast-paced ecommerce environment, including familiarity with checkout and payment flows
• Proficiency with Git-based workflows and mobile CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, Fastlane, or similar)
• Strong communication skills and experience mentoring other engineers

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the mobile engineering strategy for GameStop's PowerPacks ecosystem.
• Lead architecture and design decisions across multiple products and engineering teams.
• Build scalable frameworks, standards, and reusable solutions that improve development efficiency and consistency.
• Solve complex technical challenges related to performance, reliability, scalability, and security.
• Partner with Engineering, Product, and Business leaders to align technology investments with business objectives.
• Provide technical mentorship to Lead and Senior Engineers.
• Drive adoption of modern engineering practices, automation, observability, and continuous delivery.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions that improve customer and business outcomes.
