About The Position

In this position, you’ll join an agile team of doers pioneering our EV future by working collaboratively, staying focused on only what matters, and delivering excellence day in and day out. This exciting opportunity will play a key role in outlining early engineering feasibility, as well as specifying, developing, analyzing and validating systems and electronic assemblies. You will work closely with many cross functional teams including Ford’s Design Studio, Marketing, Vehicle Engineering and Operations teams to fully realize ideas that will become new product differentiators in the next generation of electric vehicles.

Requirements

• 4+ years of hands-on, detailed product design experience.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD (any modeling package).
• Basic GD&T knowledge and experience releasing 2D drawings.
• Bachelor of Science degree in ME or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
• Minimum of 4 years of hands-on industry experience

Nice To Haves

• Experience in design, characterization, and validation of consumer electronics, vehicle systems, input devices and/or HMI.
• Background in prototyping, full scale mockups and looks like/feels like demonstrations.
• Strong analytical skills in regard to mechanical engineering theory.
• Relevant internship experience, school projects and passion projects that show a passion for product development

Responsibilities

• Developing product layouts and technology concepts, particularly in the areas of electronics systems.
• Development of early prototypes and new technologies leading into scalable mass production.
