Requirements

  • 6-10 years of experience in manufacturing and/or engineering is required.
  • Excellent communication and interaction skills, especially when describing technical concepts to surgeons, sales personnel, and senior management.
  • Maintains a high level of professionalism in communication, both with local and international peers.
  • Highly recognized by peers as an experienced and professional engineer.
  • Must be able to work independently, provide multiple solutions to problems, and make systems work together.
  • Well organized, self-motivated, energetic, creative, resourceful, insightful, personable, and articulate.
  • Must possess strong leadership, management, and teamwork qualities.
  • You have strong leadership: resilient, tenacious, and persistent, and assertive influencing and collaboration/teaming skills.
  • Proven change management skills (Change Integration Process) are required.
  • Must be willing to support global projects and to travel.
  • Must be willing to support 2nd and 3rd shifts.
  • May be responsible for the supervision of Engineering Technicians or Interns.
  • Participates in the hiring process for Engineering Technicians and Interns

  • Demonstrates strong organizational and project management skills and is results-oriented.

  • Experience in the Medical Device industry or medical field.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing principles and practices, and procedures.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Mini-tab, and Visio, are required.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with coworkers and the public.

Nice To Haves

  • Six-Sigma Black Belt and Lean certifications preferred
  • FPx and/or Project Management certifications preferred
  • An organized, analytical approach to problem solving is also essential.
  • Some familiarity with FDA, GMP, and ISO requirements is preferred.
  • Previous experience working in a regulated industry, such as the medical device industry, is preferred.
  • Six Sigma or Lean Sigma certification or 6 years of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver on execution by leadership, teamwork, project management, and communication skills
  • Expert change agent. Drives to create and transform critical business processes.
  • Manages large cross-functional service projects and multi-generational service projects that are portfolios of related projects.
  • Trainer to the team members to increase knowledge of product launch from a service perspective, process improvement tools, and analytical tools.
  • Reviews and analyzes complex task statements, specifications, engineering drawings, and other documentation to determine engineering requirements.
  • Directs the preparation of milestone charts, manpower and material estimate inputs, and related material needed to define program schedules.
  • Determines program objectives and requirements, organizes programs and projects, and develops standards and guides for diverse engineering activities
  • Uses engineering judgment in anticipating and solving unprecedented engineering problems.
  • Initiates and maintains extensive contacts with key engineers and officials of other worldwide organizations and companies.
  • Uses acquired skill in persuasion and negotiation of critical issues.
  • Selects research problems to further the organization's objectives.
  • Recommends facilities, personnel, and funds required to carry out programs that are directly related to and directed toward fulfillment of overall organizational objectives.
  • Conceives and plans investigations of broad areas of considerable novelty and importance for which engineering precedents are lacking in areas critical to the overall engineering program.
  • Consults with higher management on business opportunities and potential problems that may impact the company's business.
  • Makes decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative
