Requirements

  • A degree or certification in the field of social services (and active licensure if applicable) and three years of experience in the social services field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; attention to detail.
  • Remains calm and responds appropriately in crises.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Flexibility to respond to changes.
  • Organize, prioritize, and independently complete multiple tasks.
  • Computer literate with ability to work in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to uphold professional boundaries, confidentiality regulations, agency policies and procedures, and interact in a professional manner with a diverse workforce, clients, and the public.
  • Willingness to accept supervision and direction.
  • Become CPR and First Aid Certified.
  • Driving is required: must be at least 21 years of age, possess a current driver’s license, have a good driving record, and be insurable on the agency liability policy.
  • Must be able to pass Utah-DHHS – Office of Licensing background screening and maintain eligibility through ongoing background monitoring and pass pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee recruitment, hiring, onboarding, supervision, performance evaluation, and disciplinary processes for front-line staff including Behavioral Health Aides, Behavioral Health Technicians, and Kitchen Aides, ensuring staff meet competency and performance expectations.
  • Oversee initial and ongoing training of all front-line staff members including developing training materials, identifying training gaps, and conducting regular staff meetings.
  • Provide regular supervision and coaching to staff, including monthly 1:1 meetings to support professional development, performance improvement, and retention; ensure timely and thorough documentation of supervision.
  • Develop and maintain staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage, appropriate staffing ratios, and compliance with licensure, safety, and program requirements.
  • Maintain positive relationships with community entities, client family members, agency volunteers and donors, law enforcement, and emergency response services.
  • Regularly audit staff documentation to ensure timeliness, compliance with specific program and billing requirements, and to identify staff training needs.
  • Support and implement trauma informed practices and procedures, crisis management skills, and best practices in working with this client population.
  • Provide oversight of the therapeutic milieu, ensuring a safe, structured, and trauma-informed environment that supports client engagement, stabilization, and recovery. Facilitate groups if required and as assigned.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support implementation of treatment plans, consistency of care, and effective communication across shifts and roles.
  • Maintain appropriate, professional boundaries with clients, volunteers, and co-workers.
  • Participate in Management On-Call Schedule.
  • Attend work on a regular and predictable basis.
  • Assist Program Director in all aspects of program operations.
  • Proactively expand and integrate knowledge of best practices and community resources.
  • Take action and make decisions within the position’s scope of responsibility.
  • Participate in various meetings and training as needed including daily staffing, weekly treatment team, monthly staff meetings, etc.
  • Learn, utilize, and endorse Trauma Informed practices.
  • Identify outside training opportunities for all staff.
  • Obtain and maintain CPR and First Aid Certification.
  • Clear understanding of and adherence to Federal Confidentiality and HIPAA laws.
  • Perform other functions as necessary or assigned.
