About The Position

As the Staff Manager of Global Trade Compliance at Oura, you will lead the global trade compliance function, ensuring adherence to applicable import and export laws and regulations across regions. You will align compliance strategies with Oura’s growth initiatives and build strong relationships with external service providers, government officials, and internal teams to support seamless compliance processes. The role includes developing a global trade compliance roadmap; monitoring regulatory requirements in the United States, Europe, and Asia; managing compliance risks; improving operational processes; conducting audits and analysis; and overseeing commodity classification, licensing, and hazardous materials compliance. The position requires 8+ years of relevant experience and the ability and willingness to travel up to 15%.

Requirements

8+ years of relevant experience.
Advanced knowledge of international trade regulations, including the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
Strong understanding of U.S. Customs regulations.
Proven experience developing and strengthening global trade compliance processes, including building governance infrastructure.
Ability and willingness to travel up to 15%.
Proven track record of working closely with executive leadership in a global environment.
Strong organizational, analytical, and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to see the big picture.
Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and time zones.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Ability to work independently, often under time-critical conditions.
Eligible to obtain and maintain a personal security clearance as necessary.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement a global trade compliance roadmap aligned with global regulations and company objectives.
Stay current on trade compliance laws, rules, and regulations in the United States, Europe, and Asia, and regularly review sanctions and embargoes.
Identify and mitigate compliance risks, monitor regulatory changes, and adjust company processes accordingly.
Work with internal stakeholders and external partners to optimize compliance while maximizing operational efficiency.
Collaborate with Sales, Finance, Legal, Supply Chain, suppliers, external partners, and regulatory bodies to develop compliant strategies and support company growth.
Conduct internal audits, provide feedback, and offer guidance to maintain and improve compliance standards.
Perform commodity jurisdiction and classification.
Coordinate with program personnel to gather information for export and import applications and ensure business and customer requirements align with licenses or agreements.
Support global trade compliance reporting and analysis, maintain trade metrics, conduct internal self-audits (Self-Testing), and ensure adherence to customs and import/export requirements.
Ensure compliance with hazardous materials transportation regulations and oversee hazmat training, documentation, and certification processes.
