About The Position

Nemours Children’s Health is seeking a Staff Interior Designer to join our Capital Planning team in Wilmington, DE. This role supports design projects across the Delaware Valley, including clinic, administrative, retail, and hospital environments, with a focus on creating functional, welcoming, and standards-driven spaces that support our mission of improving children’s health. In this role, you will partner closely with Construction Project Managers, Facilities leaders, end users, vendors, and design partners to support space planning, furniture planning and specifications, finish selections, installation coordination, and project documentation. You will help bring design concepts to life while ensuring furniture, finish, space, infection control, and healthcare design standards are maintained.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design from an accredited college or university.
  • AutoCAD experience required
  • Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Revit experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Excel, Bluebeam, PowerPoint, Revit, Photoshop, CAFM, and E-builder preferred.
  • Prior healthcare interior design experience is a strong plus; commercial furniture dealership experience is also acceptable.
  • NCIDQ certification preferred, or willingness to prepare for the NCIDQ exam when eligible.

Responsibilities

  • Support interior design planning for healthcare, clinic, administrative, retail, and hospital-based projects across the Delaware Valley.
  • Assist with space planning, preliminary test fits, feasibility studies, AutoCAD design/construction documents, and existing conditions documentation.
  • Research furniture, finishes, products, materials, installation methods, healthcare design standards, building codes, infection control requirements, and evidence-based design practices.
  • Meet with end users to understand project needs, develop furniture specifications, document finishes, and maintain established Nemours design standards.
  • Coordinate furniture installations with end users, electrical, data, facilities, vendors, and project managers.
  • Maintain clear communication with the Interior Design Manager and manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and project priorities.
  • Contribute to a collaborative team environment by supporting Corporate Facilities team members and helping maintain the design and construction materials library.
