About The Position

About The Role The Staff Industrial Engineer is responsible for leading the development and implementation of industrial models and analytical tools that support manufacturing decision making. The Staff Industrial Engineer leads key manufacturing stakeholders in defining the roadmap for changes to resources, infrastructure, and machines driven by meaningful insights derived from the organization’s key analytical tools. What You’ll Do Lead the Industrial Engineering team in turning data into information, information into insights, and insights into key business decisions that steer the direction of the manufacturing organization. Lead the analysis of manufacturing data sets using business intelligence tools developed and maintained by the Industrial Engineering team. Ingest projects and requests from end-to-end, defining business needs, developing strategies, and socializing insights to the business. Interface with multiple departments to conduct analyses that drive valuable business insights, using tools such as SQL and python to access and manipulate multivariate data. Lead efforts in continuously improving the effectiveness and scope of industrial models, analytical tools, and data structures that are deployed for short and long term planning. Analyze scenarios to determine resource bottlenecks in the factory and lead internal departments in setting plans for driving improvements. Identify and drive enterprise level Kaizen and continuous improvement projects using data driven approaches that target key production metrics such as cycle time, cost, and on time delivery while influencing behaviors/decisions at several levels of the organization. Support the manufacturing organization in making commitments with integrity by developing, implementing, and improving the suite of industrial models, tools, and management systems used to drive business planning & decision making. Develop management systems for cost analysis of new products, technologies, and manufacturing methods. Lead the industrial engineering team in pursuing the solutions roadmap that defines the facts, dimensions, metrics, and tools that comprise the information architecture for business decision making. Set direction for junior team members in the execution of complex projects. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, or equivalent.
  • 5+ years relevant experience in an engineering role.
  • Experience in manufacturing environments.
  • Fluency with business intelligence and analysis tools such as Python, Tableau, Power BI, or equivalents.
  • Hands-on experience building, running, and analyzing simulations and designing models to optimize complex manufacturing workflows and capacity constraints.
  • Growth mindset: you believe in continuous learning by dedication of time, effort, and energy.
  • Takes independent initiative to complete projects with a sense of urgency.
  • Fluency in mathematical computing with at least one programming language (e.g. Python, R, Java), and the ability to learn technical methods and tools independently
  • Fluency in data visualization / presentation skills, including the ability to simplify results & statistical concepts into simple and actionable insights
  • Ability to convert complex (often data driven) topics to clear overviews and insights.
  • Proven ability to perform effectively in a demanding environment with changing workloads and deadlines.
  • Fluency with continuous improvement / lean programs
  • Fluency with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Excel, and Word)

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or exposure to business, finance or economics is advantageous.
