About The Position

As a Staff Hydrogeologist you will be responsible for conducting hydrogeologic field investigations for water supply development, groundwater control, and stormwater infiltration projects. You can expect to spend a significant portion of your time in the field on projects, both big and small, allowing you to develop a broad understanding of soil and groundwater conditions related to hydrogeologic issues. You will also be involved in report preparation and performing hydrogeologic analysis, such as groundwater mounding, slug- and aquifer test analysis, infiltration test analysis, groundwater flow modeling, and Critical Aquifer Recharge Area assessments. This position may also provide support to our geotechnical engineering and environmental teams in other locations, as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelors in Geology or a related field; Masters in Geology or Hydrogeology is preferred.
  • Geologist-In-Training (GIT) certification preferred.
  • Be able to adapt to changing project requirements and successfully work within a team.
  • Have a strong field orientation and proven problem-solving skills.
  • Have professional-level verbal and written communication skills.
  • Have proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Must be willing to travel domestically up to 50 percent of the time, as needed.
  • One year of driving experience in the United States. Consideration will be provided for international driving experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Masters in Geology or Hydrogeology is preferred.
  • Geologist-In-Training (GIT) certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for conducting hydrogeologic field investigations including sampling and logging of soil and rock during drilling, water supply well siting, design, installation and development, aquifer testing, groundwater monitoring and infiltration testing.
  • Assist with gathering field data and field samples for related projects. Coordinate samples for testing as needed.
  • Responsible for preparing field reports and performing hydrogeologic analyses such as groundwater mounding, slug- and aquifer-test analysis, and infiltration test analysis.
  • Responsible for compiling and analyzing data and assisting in the development of groundwater flow models and dewatering plans based on the data you collect.
  • Support a variety of projects mainly in the Spokane area but may support our hydrogeologic team at other locations as needed.
