About The Position

The HR Business Partner (HRBP) advises and enables business performance by partnering with leaders to improve organizational effectiveness through people. As a first point of contact for complex human capital matters, the HRBP delivers high-impact solutions aligned with GM’s purpose, strategy, and culture. The role partners with business leaders on talent strategy, workforce planning, job design, organizational transformation, leadership development, employee experience, and Total Rewards. It provides guidance on complex employee relations matters and helps leaders navigate ambiguity and change with sound judgment and actionable solutions. The position applies advanced analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving approaches to complex, non-standard issues that may span multiple geographies, business units, and disciplines. It uses data and insights to guide strategic decisions and demonstrate HR’s impact, and collaborates with Centers of Excellence and HR Operations to diagnose root causes and develop scalable solutions. The HRBP works independently with broad latitude, influences outcomes without formal authority, and may serve as a subject matter expert, indirect leader, and mentor to less experienced HR professionals. The role leads or co-leads visible projects and change programs, supporting adoption and sustainability of innovative HR practices.
