About The Position

SCI Engineering, Inc. is a professional consulting and engineering firm offering a variety of services from the design development stage through construction. We specialize in Geotechnical, Environmental, Natural Resources, Cultural Resources and Construction Material Testing. SCI is seeking a Staff Geologist to join our Geotechnical Services group in St. Charles, Missouri. You will have the opportunity to apply your geologic skills to projects involving heaving soils, karst features, underground mines; construction management; environmental compliance; and forensic investigations, while developing the business skills needed for a successful consulting career.

Requirements

Strong oral and technical writing skills.
Valid U.S. Driver’s License and a satisfactory driving record for business travel.
Bachelors degree in Geology is required
Holds professional licensure or has ability to obtain professional licensure (P.G.) within four years is require

Nice To Haves

Experience with Geographical Information System (GIS) field data collection tools.
Ability to travel out of town for up to 1 week at a time
Geotechnical laboratory testing experience
Advanced degree in Geology is preferred

Responsibilities

Project planning and coordination including subcontractor procurement, sampling and health and safety plan development, project management support with client and regulatory interfacing
Utility clearance coordination with one call (811) and private utility locators, clients, and contractors
Conduct geological field investigations and data collection
Assist with laboratory testing
Monitoring and oversight of construction projects including deep foundations, ground improvement installation, load testing, and retaining wall construction
