Requirements

  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Geology or other degree that qualifies for future professional geologist licensure in Pennsylvania
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience
  • Combination of office and outdoor work environment. When in an outdoor environment, the employee is subject to walking distances in uneven terrain, varying temperature and weather conditions, and some heavy lifting
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite of products
  • Must have a valid driver's license

Nice To Haves

  • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training a plus
  • Previous consulting experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Perform field tasks, including data collection, measurements, and excavation observation
  • Prepare field notes and related documentation in accordance with company standards
  • Conduct drilling oversight and logging of soil borings, monitoring wells, and soil vapor points
  • Collect groundwater, soil, sediment, air, and surface water samples for laboratory analysis
  • Collect and interpret data and information through research, use of online databases, modeling, and file reviews
  • Enter data into report format using applicable software and company formatting guidelines
  • Maintain spreadsheets and databases associated with regulatory compliance
  • Prepare maps and other illustrations for data interpretation and presentation
  • Assist with preparing regulatory submittments, such as permit applications and plans
  • Assist with preparation of technical reports to document project findings, conclusions, and recommendations
  • Operate and maintain remediation systems
  • Apply basic knowledge of federal, state, and local regulatory requirements and regulatory programs
  • Assist with on-call emergency projects on occasion
