About The Position

Campus is building the modern tech stack for its accredited two-year college, aiming to accelerate student talent and reimagine higher education. The role focuses on modernizing financial aid, student accounts, and registrar workflows, which currently rely on outdated software. The engineer will develop technology that integrates with complex federal systems, turning manual processes into durable, automated solutions. This is an opportunity to work on high-impact problems, build robust infrastructure, improve engineering practices, and collaborate across teams to shape the future of higher education technology.

Requirements

  • 6–8 years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Strong backend development skills.
  • Experience with Go, Python, or similar languages.
  • Familiarity with React.
  • Track record of building and releasing high-quality products or features at scale.
  • Ability to take ownership from design to deployment, balancing speed with maintainability.
  • Motivation to deepen craft, learn new technologies, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work across disciplines with a low-ego, team-first attitude.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring visa sponsorship (TN visa sponsorship available for eligible Canadian and Mexican citizens).

Responsibilities

  • Ship meaningful features quickly using modern workflows like feature flags, CI/CD, automated testing, and AI-assisted coding.
  • Build infrastructure that requires high accuracy, designing APIs, services, and data flows with a focus on idempotency, reconciliation, and observability.
  • Improve engineering best practices, refine developer tooling, and shape processes to help the team scale effectively.
  • Collaborate with Product, Design, Financial Aid, and Student Accounts teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
  • Solve challenging problems by building the next generation of systems powering modern higher education.
