About The Position

HomeVision is seeking a Staff/Principal-level Frontend/Product Engineer to help define the interaction layer between humans and AI across the underwriting process. This role will partner directly with the Head of Design, CTO, and senior product leadership to shape the platform’s core interaction model. The company's platform, MIRA, has already automated over two million appraisal reviews, reducing review time by 75% and doubling underwriter productivity. HomeVision is now expanding to cover the full underwriting workflow, including income, assets, credit, collateral, and loan file decisioning, to create the first end-to-end AI underwriting platform for the mortgage industry.

Requirements

  • Deep product orientation, with enjoyment in engaging with customers and learning new domains.
  • Ability to think beyond implementation details and understand how technical decisions shape user behavior and product outcomes.
  • A builder mentality with experience shipping meaningful products used by real customers.
  • Genuine curiosity about where AI is heading.
  • Ability to operate with urgency and ownership, moving quickly without sacrificing reliability or trust.
  • Proactive problem identification, clear communication, and solution-driven approach.
  • Ability to elevate people around you with strong engineering judgment, high standards, and collaborative energy.
  • Excitement for difficult workflow problems, complex systems, making sense of dense information and documents, operational tooling, and AI-assisted decision-making.
  • Deep proficiency in React and TypeScript (ideal but not required; great engineers can come up to speed quickly).
  • Clear understanding of how to architect front-end systems that can extend and scale.
  • Comfort working across the stack, including reading and reasoning about Go/Python backends.
  • Experience building AI-native interfaces or complex, data-dense applications.
  • Track record of leading a product surface end-to-end, not just features.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working on document review, decisioning, or workflow products.

Responsibilities

  • Define the future of AI-assisted underwriting by designing and building workflows that help underwriters, processors, and loan officers confidently work alongside AI systems and build trust.
  • Create intuitive UX patterns for explainability, auditability, exception handling, and human-in-the-loop review.
  • Own the cross-platform frontend and design system, leading the evolution of the frontend platform across web and future embedded experiences, including in-document review and lender integrations.
  • Architect components to enable the team to ship faster as the company scales.
  • Establish the frontend patterns, libraries, and review standards for the engineering team.
  • Mentor and recruit engineers to work alongside you.
  • Take features from rough ideas to production rapidly and iterate based on customer usage.
  • Drive tools and process improvement by sharing ideas and testing tools that accelerate prototyping to production at higher velocity and quality.

  • Meaningful equity ownership
  • Full medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Flexible vacation policy
