About The Position

Weaver Consultants Group is seeking a Staff Engineer to develop and implement comprehensive environmental engineering plans. This role involves designing grading, drainage, utility force mains, leachate and landfill gas collection systems, landfill cell and infrastructure construction, and stormwater management and erosion/sediment control systems. The position is responsible for solid waste engineering design and permitting for landfills, transfer stations, and recycling facilities. Duties include preparing technical reports, collecting air and water monitoring samples, analyzing technical data, and using AutoCAD for project design. The role requires approximately 10-15% travel to project sites within the state for Construction Quality Assurance (CQA) activities, up to 100 miles from the primary worksite.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or its foreign equivalent, in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or a closely related field and one (1) year of experience in the job offered or one (1) year of experience as Civil Engineer, Environmental Engineer, Environmental Scientist or closely related.
  • OR Bachelor’s degree or its foreign equivalent, in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related field and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or five (5) years of progressively responsible experience as Civil Engineer, Environmental Engineer, Environmental Scientist or closely related.
  • Environmental site investigation and remediation, including groundwater and soil sampling, and data analysis for VOCs, PFAS, and petroleum-related contaminants.
  • Water systems analysis.
  • Preparation and interpretation of SDS for treatment systems.
  • Life cycle impact assessment (LCIA).
  • Use of AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive environmental engineering plans covering grading, drainage design, utility force mains, leachate and landfill gas collection systems, landfill cell and infrastructure construction, and the design of stormwater management and erosion and sediment control systems.
  • Responsible for solid waste engineering design and permitting (landfills, transfer stations and recycling facilities).
  • Prepare technical reports such as operating plans, CQA reports, and permit applications.
  • Collect air and water monitoring samples and analyze technical data for successful engineering implementation.
  • Use AutoCAD to design projects.
  • Travel approximately 10–15% of the time to project sites within the state for Construction Quality Assurance (CQA) activities, up to approximately 100 miles from the primary worksite.
