Kohler Co. is seeking Staff Engineers for its Casa Grande, Arizona location. This role is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the manufacturing processes of Vikrell products, with a strong focus on efficiency and quality. The engineer will identify and solve problems in production processes, aiming to reduce waste, increase productivity (both in process and with people), and improve product quality by following Lean Manufacturing basics. Ensuring strict safety adherence for KOHLER Vikrell products is paramount. The role involves analyzing manufacturing processes to find areas for improvement and implementing Lean manufacturing tools and techniques. SAP will be utilized for data analysis, process management, and reporting to support decision-making and continuous improvement. Leading problem-solving efforts using root cause analysis methodologies to address production issues and implement sustainable solutions is key. Collaboration with cross-functional teams to develop and implement best practices in process design, production planning, and inventory management is expected. Developing and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) to track improvements and ensure alignment with organizational goals, as well as conducting time and motion studies to establish benchmarks and optimize workflow, are core functions. The engineer will also facilitate training sessions and workshops on Lean principles, problem-solving techniques, and continuous improvement methodologies. Support for new product introductions includes analyzing manufacturing feasibility and developing efficient production processes. Preparing reports and presentations to communicate findings, recommendations, and project progress to management is required. The role involves deploying quality standards on the shop floor and working on the design of material flow, layout process design of production lines, and Automated Guided Vehicle flow layout to improve efficiency and flow. This is achieved by optimizing Supply Chain and manufacturing process operations related to direct labor headcount, layout, and equipment, increasing throughput, and utilizing automation through continuous improvement activities. Equipment and process optimization are critical, ensuring manufacturing processes comply with relevant regulatory requirements. Developing and optimizing manufacturing processes for Vikrell products using World Class Manufacturing principles, while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements, is a primary objective. Conducting process and equipment activities to ensure manufacturing processes are reproducible, consistent, and meet regulatory requirements is essential. Designing and implementing manufacturing layouts, equipment specifications, and automation solutions to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality are key responsibilities. Identifying and analyzing process performance metrics including yield, throughput, cycle time, and cost to identify areas for improvement and optimization is required. Working with Manufacturing, Packaging, Engineering, Maintenance, and Supply Chain to resolve open issues impacting Manufacturing and Packaging activities is part of the role. Continuously monitoring and analyzing industry trends, regulatory updates, and technological advancements to ensure manufacturing processes remain up-to-date and competitive is expected. Leading and managing process improvement projects to drive continuous improvement in efficiency, cost reduction, and quality enhancement is a core function. Developing and implementing risk management strategies to ensure potential risks to product quality, safety, and efficacy are identified and addressed appropriately is also required.
