About The Position

Weaver Consultants Group is seeking a Staff Engineer interested in environmental and civil engineering, particularly in the design, installation, construction, monitoring, assessment, regulatory compliance, and operation and maintenance of environmental control and monitoring systems for landfills and transfer stations. The position includes field work, travel, and overnight stays, including on weekends. The engineer will work under the direction of senior-level staff and support them in completing project tasks. The role is suited to someone seeking a fast-paced, challenging, collaborative environment with opportunities to develop professional skills.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
• 0–3 years of related experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to travel, often on short notice.
• Valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

• EIT certification preferred.
• Advanced experience in AutoCAD/Civil3D is a plus.
• Experience with hydrologic/hydraulic modeling software is a plus.
• Experience with slope stability evaluation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with developing and implementing engineering plans for grading, drainage, utilities, force mains, leachate collection systems, landfill gas collection systems, landfill cell construction, infrastructure construction, stormwater management, and erosion and sediment control.
• Perform solid-waste engineering design and permitting for landfills, transfer stations, and recycling facilities.
• Prepare technical reports, including operating plans, CQA reports, and permit applications.
• Collect air and water monitoring samples.
• Analyze technical data.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and superiors.
• Use computer-aided design packages, including AutoCAD, to design projects.
• Observe and document construction.
• Support senior staff as needed to complete tasks; this may involve working more than 40 hours per week.
