About The Position

As the Staff Engineer, Supply Chain Inventory, you will provide technical leadership for inventory management solutions that support our business and customers. You will work with product, business, data science, and engineering partners to support existing systems while building modern applications that can grow with our needs. You will guide technical direction across multiple products, mentor engineers, and help teams use modern software practices. This is an opportunity to solve complex problems and shape solutions used across our supply chain. In this role, you'll primarily work virtually from home or another non‑Best Buy location. However, you must live within a drivable distance to our corporate campus in Richfield, Minnesota. The specific work arrangements vary by role and team, and the recruiter or hiring manager will provide additional details during the hiring process. Relocation assistance is not available for this role.

Requirements

  • 5 years of software engineering experience with a bachelor’s degree, or equivalent professional experience
  • 5 years of programming or scripting experience with technologies such as Java, Spring, Kotlin, React, Next.js, or TypeScript
  • 3 years of experience building custom systems, cloud environments (GCP and AWS), and software architecture in large environments
  • 3 years of experience with technologies such as Postgres, Kafka, Redis, Kubernetes, Grafana, or Dynatrace
  • Experience leading engineers and working with Agile practices such as Scrum or Kanban

Nice To Haves

  • 7 years of relevant professional experience.
  • 5 years of experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Google Cloud
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience building applications with modern AI-supported development tools
  • Experience with supply chain or inventory systems, including demand forecasting, replenishment, warehouse, or transportation management

  • Guide architecture and technical decisions across multiple systems and products
  • Lead technical initiatives that involve several engineering teams
  • Solve complex software problems using modern approaches and technologies
  • Balance technical, product, and business needs when making decisions
  • Improve application reliability, support practices, monitoring, and development standards
