Overall Purpose The Staff Engineer, CI/CD Platform, defines and drives the technical strategy, architecture, and evolution of CI/CD capabilities within the Platform team. This role designs, builds, automates, secures, and improves shared software delivery systems and tooling, including source control integration, pipeline orchestration, secrets management, artifact management, and release automation. The role enables engineering teams to build, test, and deploy software reliably, securely, and efficiently, and serves as a senior technical leader for high-impact initiatives that strengthen enterprise software delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Typically 8 or more years of related experience in Software engineering, Platform engineering, DevOps engineering, Infrastructure engineering, Build and Release engineering, or similar technical roles.
  • Strong experience with on-premises infrastructure and AWS Cloud environments.
  • Strong experience designing, building, and supporting enterprise CI/CD platforms and developer tooling, including GitLab, Harness, Vault, Artifactory, or similar technologies.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes, including platform integration, workload orchestration, and operational support for CI/CD tooling and related delivery services.
  • Strong understanding of modern software delivery practices, including continuous integration, continuous delivery, deployment automation, release governance, and environment promotion strategies.
  • Strong experience with container technologies such as Docker and Podman.
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code development using tools such as Terraform and AWS CloudFormation.
  • Experience with one or more major programming or scripting languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, or Shell.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent cross-team collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to make critical technical tradeoff decisions with cross-team impact.
  • Successful completion of background and drug screening requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or a related field.
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification.
  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator certification.
  • Terraform Authoring and Operations Professional certification.
  • Experience with GitLab, Harness, Vault, or Artifactory at enterprise scale.
  • FinTech experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Define and lead the technical strategy, roadmap, and execution for CI/CD platforms, tooling, and automation, including large-scale upgrades, migrations, integrations, and modernization efforts.
  • Design, build, and enhance scalable, secure, and resilient CI/CD capabilities using tools such as GitLab, Harness, Vault, Artifactory, and related technologies.
  • Develop and maintain standardized build, test, release, and deployment patterns that improve software delivery speed, quality, and consistency.
  • Create reusable templates, guardrails, and self-service capabilities that enable secure and efficient adoption of CI/CD services.
  • Automate core software delivery functions, including pipeline provisioning, secrets injection, artifact lifecycle management, policy enforcement, and deployment controls.
  • Lead troubleshooting and resolution of complex issues affecting build systems, deployment pipelines, and related delivery tooling.
  • Drive platform performance, reliability, scalability, and security improvements that strengthen operational efficiency and service resilience.
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation for architecture, standards, operational procedures, pipeline patterns, and support models.
  • Mentor engineers and partners with security, infrastructure, developer experience, and application teams to advance secure, scalable, and developer-friendly software delivery practices.
