Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
0–2 years of experience in municipal, civil/site, transportation, or infrastructure engineering.
Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Office Suite, and engineering design software.
Understanding of municipal infrastructure design principles and applicable codes and regulations.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while managing multiple assignments.

Nice To Haves

Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred or ability to obtain within 6 months.

Responsibilities

Assist with the planning, design, and preparation of engineering plans, specifications, reports, and cost estimates for municipal infrastructure projects.
Perform engineering calculations related to grading, stormwater management, drainage, water distribution, sanitary sewer systems, and roadway design.
Prepare permit applications and coordinate with local, county, state, and regulatory agencies.
Support project managers in project delivery, scheduling, budgeting, and client communications.
Conduct field investigations, site visits, and construction observations as needed.
Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D and other engineering software to prepare design documents.
Assist in the preparation of technical reports, feasibility studies, and grant applications.
Coordinate with internal disciplines including environmental, transportation, geotechnical, landscape architecture, and water resources teams.
Review contractor submittmits, respond to requests for information (RFIs), and support construction administration activities.
Participate in client meetings, public presentations, and stakeholder coordination efforts.
